Student Experience & Content Creator (part Time)

Manchester, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

The Essential English Centre is a boutique, privately owned English language school located in the heart of Manchester. Since 2012, we've welcomed students from around the world, offering high-quality English language courses in a warm, friendly, and professional environment. Accredited by the British Council, we're proud to be a vibrant school for international learners aged 16 and over.

As part of the Language Travel Industry, we don't just teach English -- we deliver the full student experience: language courses, social activities, accommodation, and more.

About the Role

We're looking for a creative, energetic and responsible individual to join our Student Experience Team as an Experience + Content Creator. You'll play a key role in engaging students in interesting and exciting activities outside of the classroom and capturing content to showcase life at The EEC across our digital platforms - from classroom snapshots to social activities and everything Manchester has to offer.

This is a hybrid, part-time role (15 hours/week ) and is ideal for someone who loves connecting with people from all over the world, telling stories and creating memorable experiences- both online and in person. The hours worked will be split between working inside the school and working on location in Manchester and sometimes further afield.

What You'll Do

Plan and lead two 3-hour social activities per week (typically between 3-6pm), although these times may vary depending on the activity.
Ensure the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of all students during these activities by following safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times.

Capture and create engaging content from these activities and general school life. Produce and edit short-form video and photo content for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. Be confident and comfortable on camera -- including vlogging and engaging directly with audiences. Collaborate closely with our Director of Marketing to develop and execute content plans. Build a strong, positive online community that reflects the student experience. Showcase Manchester as a fantastic place to live and study. Monitor engagement, analyse content performance, and provide regular feedback.

About You

A natural people person who builds rapport easily -- especially with young-adult international students. Creative and confident on camera, with a strong sense of storytelling and brand voice. Experience creating short-form content and growing social pages with engaging content. Basic video and photo editing skills (e.g. using mobile editing apps or tools like CapCut, Canva, etc.). Able to work independently, manage your time effectively, and adapt quickly. Based in or near Manchester, with good local knowledge of student-friendly places and experiences. Genuinely interested in travel, culture, and meeting people from around the world. Up to date with current content trends and social media best practices.

We Offer

A vibrant, friendly working environment in the heart of Manchester. A flexible working schedule. Career development and growth potential within the company. Opportunity for additional hours.
