We are looking to recruit a Student Insights Manager who will be responsible for analysis of student data obtained through student voice mechanisms and other student data sources. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone with an interest in using data to support the enhancement of the student experience.

The Opportunity:

This is an open ended position within the Student Analytics, Insights and Modelling team in Registry Services. The post holder will be responsible for managing the production of analysis relating to the student experience, both gathered through student voice mechanisms (surveys, focus groups) and analysis of key student data sources (Student Record). The post holder will; manage the delivery of key sector and institutional surveys; support the development of a student voice strategy; work closely with key stakeholders across the institution to support quality assurances process (including developing training and guidance to support the use of data). The post holder will have line management responsibilities, including the development of team members.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Proven experience in a data analysis role(s) that demonstrates high order literacy, numeracy, evaluation and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful working relationships across organisational boundaries
  • Experience in managing and developing staff
  • Proven communication skills, including the ability to explain data simply and concisely and translate complex ideas for non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously: to balance competing demands, manage expectations, and prioritise objectives

About the Team:

Student Administration provides services to all students throughout their time at the University of Edinburgh and supports Colleges and Schools and other student services in delivering a high quality student experience. The department has general responsibility for arrangements for examinations; assessment and charging of fees; graduation ceremonies; immigration visa compliance; information on a wide range of student services through our Student Information Points; official student documentation; provision of personalised timetable; student finance (i.e. bursaries, scholarships, loans and hardship funds, travel funds and US loans); student study space bookings; and student support and liaison with UK funding bodies (i.e. SAAS and SLC).
