About you

You will have recent experience of being in higher education and an interest in empowering others to achieve, progress and feel included throughout their student journey. You will be confident to share unique ideas to empower student voice and enhance students' experiences. You can build and strengthen relations with students, the Student Union, and University staff with an empathic approach to problem solving. You can co-ordinate awareness raising campaigns/initiatives. You will enjoy being creative and are confident in creating engaging content for social media campaigns. You are a flexible learner and are able to work independently. Ultimately, you have a passion to help others achieve their academic aspirations.

About this role

This post is within the Directorate of Students, Support and Information Services and provides an inclusive advisory service to students. The role is a fixed term internship with a unique opportunity to be a hands-on member of the team supporting the wider Student Support Services team to deliver practical initiatives and interventions that contribute to student success and enhance students' experiences.

The role is flexible, collaborative, and evolving. Past Intern projects include:

Student-led mentoring and support groups, Wellbeing awareness events for Mental Health day Advocacy and empowerment projects Social media (Instagram) content creation Marketing / rebranding development

About the team

You will be joining a highly professional, passionate and student-focused team, covering a range of services including Student Health and Wellbeing, Disability and Dyslexia Services, Student Money Advice and International Student Advice. The wider team also includes colleagues based in our Support and Information Zone, providing first level support and signposting. We are keen to hear fresh perspectives, unique experiences and ideas to continue shaping the service for the betterment of student experience, engagement, achievement, and belonging.
