Must live within a 1.0 hour (60 minute) commuting distance of our Stonehouse GL10 station
Current student paramedic enrolled on a BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science course with a university or on an alternative educational programme approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Ensure informed consent is obtained before treatment or intervention is undertaken, and to ensure that the communication of information between self, the patient and colleagues is handled sensitively, clearly, pro-actively and in a manner mindful of patient confidentiality
Maintain a smart presentation at all times, ensuring full compliance of IMAS Uniform & Appearance Policy
Maintain a portfolio of evidence of clinical practice, reflective practice and training sessions attended
To ensure compliance with the appropriate sections of IMAS guidelines, policies, procedures, protocols and scope pf practice at all times, being personally accountable and responsible for clinical decisions made during the course of duty, ensuring patients receive the highest quality and standard of holistic care and attention
To participate in audits and research opportunities
Ensure that vehicles are clean and appropriately stocked and refuel them as required
Adhere to all IMAS policies, procedures and operational instructions provided by healthcare professionals, including registered paramedics.
Complete appropriate and clear documentation relating to patients attended, work and journeys undertaken in accordance with IMAS policies and protocols.
Attend all training courses and qualifications as required and outlined by Inova Medical Ambulance Service to ensure competency and safe practice.
Maintain a working knowledge of and operate all required types of communication equipment (including radio, telephone and MDTs) in accordance with IMAS protocols to convey accurate information about emergency and routine work and patient information to NHS and other agency staff and those from other services as appropriate.
Be flexible in attitude to meet the constantly changing nature of care and service delivery to support clients and commissioners
Exercise high levels of courtesy and communication with patients and the public to ensure that clear information is conveyed, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
Clean and maintain proper care of any equipment, vehicles and uniform provided by the organisation in accordance with current infection control procedures
Carry out general vehicle checks at the start of and during each shift, to ensure the readiness of the vehicle and communications equipment to respond as required. All defects, deficiencies and accident damage must be reported in accordance with IMAS procedures.
Due to the nature of work undertaken by Inova Medical Ambulance Service, this post is exempt from the provision (42) of the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974 (Exemptions) order 1975.
