About St Marys, Mulberry & Victor Street surgeries



St Marys is a well-established, dedicated, large inner city GP practice offering care and support to around 23,000 patients. We are working collaboratively with Victor Street and Mulberry Surgeries and looking to expand our team as we set up more centralised back-office functions across the three surgeries serving a population of around 40,000 patients across the city of Southampton. As an employer we review pay scales in line with the national living wage or above.

Job Summary



The post holder will be part of the Admin Team based at St Marys surgery. The key aspect of the role is Student co-ordination, which involves preparing packs for joining student, ensuring clinical rotas are updated for supporting clinicians and completing inductions. You will also be a point of contact for the university and work closely with the clinical leads. Full training would be given but it would great to hear from you if you have General Practice experience or indeed have previously worked in a similar role. We are a large team based over four sites so it may be necessary at times to travel between sites.

Key Responsibilities



Completing Inductions with new students on their first day

. Setting up of rooms for teaching and student clinics

Preparing work packs

Organising rotas for students and supporting clinicians

Manage University portal

Receiving and responding to email requests

Other general admin tasks when required

. Co-ordinating meetings and taking minutes

The above responsibilities are not exhaustive. The post holder may from time to time be required to undertake other activities commensurate with the expected levels of responsibility and scope of the role, within levels of attained competence.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Person Specification



Academic/Vocational Qualifications GCSE/O level qualification in English and Mathematics

Experience



At least 2 years' experience of working in an administrative role Ability to take in a lot of information and follow processes. Experience working in within General Practice or clinical environment

Knowledge / Skills



IT literate Communication skills, both written and verbal Data Entry skills Primary Care Clinical system - preferably TPP System-one

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour
