Enabling a young lady with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy who is studying her BA Business and Management at the UHI, Inverness. Your role involves 'being the hands' to bridge the gap between disability, achievement, and independence. You must be able to provide a person-centred approach, promote and empower choice. This specific role is a nightshift position which involves supporting the young lady in the evening and throughout the night. at the Student Campus. You will sleep in a separate room and communicate any of her needs throughout the night through a monitor.
Full training provided.
Main duties and responsibilities
Forming and maintaining a healthy, professional, and trusting relationship with both the young lady and the team
Supporting with studying, including scribing
Competent use of equipment, including power chairs, plinth, hoists, bed
Assistance in personal care, including eating and drinking
Participating in a diverse range of training, including moving and handling, health and safety, physiotherapy sessions, and Cerebral Palsy information sessions
. Going out and about to places such as Eden Court, Cinema and anywhere else she would like to go.
Pay and work schedule
Hourly rate of 13.25
Options for permanent and fixed term contracts
Shifts - Sleepover shifts only, 14 hours per shift, shift times may vary.
