Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you\'ll find our department, Support Structure Solutions, as part of Offshore Technical Sales Management.
The Support Structure team collaborates closely with customers and foundation designers to manage integrated support structure optimization and certification workstreams. Additionally, they facilitate the scoping and development of essential tool improvements based on market demands.

Responsibilities
As a student worker within the Support Structure team, you will have the opportunity to enhance your technical skills in the field of offshore engineering. Your responsibilities will involve supporting the Support Structure Engineers in commercial and strategic initiatives, working closely with the commercial sales group, construction management teams, and central engineering functions.
Apart from these your responsibilities include

  • Playing an active role in establishing and carrying out initial integrated load simulations
  • Assisting in technical value engineering to assess the value of WTG features in real support structure designs
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives related to optimizing Support Structure designs
  • Conducting load and design sensitivity studies, with a particular emphasis on the support structure
  • Providing support in reviewing project-specific environmental data
  • Assisting with various support tasks
Qualifications
  • Ideally, you are in the final year of your master\'s degree, focusing on civil, mechanical or marine engineering
  • You possess a strong theoretical foundation in structural dynamics and wind turbine design
  • You have a fundamental knowledge of programming languages such as MATLAB and Python
  • You are proficient in both written and spoken English

Additional information
Your work location will be in Edinburgh, UK.
You will be expected to work 20-25 hours per week.
This position can be combined with a Master Thesis project with technical guidance from Vestas.
