Job Description


To provide support for the lively and energetic Activities department within Lancaster University Students\' Union, working with staff to become a knowledge base for all enquiries relating to the Student Union Sport Office, assisting staff in the delivery of BUCS, College and recreational sport.

Preferred Start Date: 2nd of October 2023

Expected End Date: 31st of July 2024

Interview Date: 28th of September 2023

Location: On the Lancaster University campus

Hours per Week: 6-8



Major Responsibilities

  • To deal with enquiries from students about Student Union sport.
  • To be the first point of contact for the department during term time.
  • To deal with the organisation and delivery of the British Universities and Colleges Sporting programme BUCS.
  • To assist in the operations of the office including:
  • monitoring the use and condition of the minibuses
  • deal with the sign-ups for courses and competitions
  • maintaining accurate web pages
  • collating and publishing fixtures and results
  • dealing with various administrative duties - e.g., registering drivers
  • To assist in the communication of the successful projects that groups are involved in.
  • To assist in the organisation and delivery of Student Union events.
  • To uphold the Unions environmental, sustainable and ethical policies and to carry out any such other duties, comparable in responsibility, as may be directed by the Chief Executive or his/her representative.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
