The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Sub Agent
to support the successful delivery of the Sizewell C Project.
CWA, appointed by the Sizewell C client, brings together three leading delivery contractors -- Laing O'Rourke, Bouygues, and Balfour Beatty -- to deliver the civils scope including Enabling Earthworks, Main Civil Works, and Marine and Tunnelling.
We are seeking a
Sub Agent
to support the delivery of the Enabling Works and Earthworks scope. This early stage of the project includes major packages such as the SSSI Crossing, ground improvements, dewatering, diaphragm walls, sea defence, Marine Bulk Import Facility (MBIF), Beach Landing Facility (BLF), construction drainage outfall and bulk earthworks.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and monitor section budgets, identifying changes and ensuring robust commercial recovery
Lead and mentor Section Engineers and Site Engineers, guiding them on technical requirements, setting out, and problem-solving
Review and implement Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Permits to Work (confined space and hot works)
Take ownership of accident/incident investigations, audits and trend analysis to drive improvements
Manage subcontractors, procurement processes and commercial documentation
Ensure handover documentation is completed to the required standard
Produce resourced programmes and monitor progress against KPIs, ensuring alignment with project delivery plans
Provide coaching and leadership, embedding best practice and driving team performance
What skills & experience are we looking for?
Essential:
HNC/HND/Degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent site experience in civils/construction)
Strong technical knowledge of construction processes in at least one area: Earthworks/Drainage, Structures, Ground Engineering/Improvement, or Marine Engineering
Excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills, with proven ability to manage teams and subcontractors
CSCS card, plus SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
Strong understanding of health, safety, quality, and temporary works requirements
Desirable:
Professional accreditation (e.g. ICE)
