Subscriptions Marketing And Circulation Manager

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

About the role

We're looking for a smart, motivated Subscriptions Marketing and Circulation Manager to help grow and serve our magazines audience which include The House, The Parliament magazine, Civil Service World and Holyrood. This is a part-time role that blends strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, ideal for someone who understands the value of high-quality publishing and wants to play a key part in reaching new readers while keeping existing subscribers engaged and satisfied.

You'll take the lead on growing our print subscriptions base--developing creative campaigns, optimising retention, and ensuring a seamless customer journey from sign-up to delivery. Alongside this, you'll manage the operational nuts and bolts of circulation: keeping our subscriber data clean and up-to-date, overseeing print quantities, liaising with printers and our fulfilment bureau, and making sure every issue lands in the right place, on time.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a balance of audience insight, logistics, and commercial awareness. You'll work closely with our editorial, marketing, and production teams, and you'll have the space to bring your own ideas to the table on how we grow smarter and operate more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow our subscriber base across print and digital platforms. Oversee circulation strategy and manage distribution schedules. Maintain accurate subscriber lists. Leading the relationship with our fulfilment bureau. Analyse subscription trends, retention and acquisition data. Work closely with other departments, such as editorial, sales, product, and customer service, to develop customer-centric acquisition and retention strategies. Collect subscriber data to monitor satisfaction levels and support future subscription proposition development. Manage customer service query in conjunction with our fulfilment bureau. Liaise with printers to confirm print runs and ensure timely delivery. Managing our yearly ABC submissions. Prepare reports on circulation, performance, and growth KPIs.

Requirements, skills and experience

Proven experience in subscriptions, circulation, or audience management (print/digital). Comfortable using subscriber platforms, and Excel/Google Sheets. Analytical mindset - able to spot trends and act on them. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Familiar with working with third-party suppliers (fulfilment bureau, printers, mailing houses, etc.). A proactive self-starter who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team. Interest in UK and EU politics is desirable but not essential.

Please note: This is a part-time position with flexible hours, approximately 20 to 22.5 hours per week. We are open to discussing a working pattern that suits your needs. The salary for this role is 24,000 pro rata, based on the agreed hours (equivalent to 40,000 full-time equivalent).
