We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our Substance Misuse team at Gatwick IRC, an Immigration Removal Centre located at Gatwick
Gatwick IRC is a detention centre based on the grounds of Gatwick Airport. The role will be to support the wider healthcare team as a Healthcare Assistant within the Substance Misuse Team.
Hours 15 hours per week (2 days a week, any two days from Monday - Friday).
Salary
This position is part time, you'll receive an annual salary up to 29,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience. This will be pro rata'd for the part time hours.

What you'll be doing
As a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Be working with other members of the team that you are part of, assessing needs of patients and assessing risks accordingly.
• Provide outstanding evidence based care to a case load of psycho social patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• You will provide a programme of psycho social interventions, along with information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices.
• Deliver non-judgemental care on a one to one basis and through group work, supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks.
• You'll make a real difference as defined throughout our bespoke HiJ competency framework following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.

• Evidence of CPD
• Relevant degree/qualification or equivalent experience
• Knowledge and experience in the provision of structured psycho social interventions

• Excellent communication skills
