We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join the team at HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison located in Leyland. HMP Wymott has capacity of around 1,100, and has a varied and complex population.
Join the Recovery Team and empower those whom wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care.
Hours:
This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week. Shifts are Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30.
Salary:
This position is full time , you'll receive an annual salary of 29,264 - 33,510 dependent on experience.

What you'll be doing
As our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Delivering outstanding care to psychosocial patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback - ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual
• Manage a caseload of patients (around 70) with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma etc
• Deliver group sessions on drug use, relapse prevention, overdose awareness, harm reduction etc
• Providing a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments
• Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices
• Prepare patients for release and transfer, ensuring continuity of care
• Delivering care on a 1-1 basis as well as group sessions

• Have experience within Substance misuse, ideally a prison / secure environment, and ideally within a Recovery Worker / Practitioner role
• Have experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary framework, which includes housing, social care, health care and mental health pathways
• Have a flexible approach, and excellent communication skills
• Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
