As a Supervising Social Worker within ABC Fostering's trauma-informed and ethical fostering agency, you will be responsible for the support, supervision, development, and review of foster carers to ensure safe, stable, and nurturing placements for children and young people.
You will work collaboratively with carers, colleagues, and external professionals to deliver high-quality services that meet regulatory standards and reflect ABC Fostering's commitment to child-centred care and therapeutic practice.
Key Responsibilities
Carer Supervision and Development
Provide regular, scheduled supervision and support visits to allocated foster carers (minimum monthly).
Undertake unannounced visits, annual reviews, and safer caring assessments in line with fostering regulations.
Build strong relationships with carers to promote resilience, reflection, and ongoing development.
Offer guidance on care planning, placement support, and managing children's emotional and behavioural needs.
Ensure accurate and timely case recordings using CHARMS case management system.
Fostering Assessments and Panel Work
Complete comprehensive Form F assessments for new foster carers and transfer cases.
Present assessments, annual reviews, and significant updates to the Fostering Panel.
Participate in the matching process and contribute to placement planning with the Registered Manager.
Monitor progress of applicants during assessment and ensure timely progression to panel.
Child and Placement Support
Liaise with Local Authority social workers and other professionals in relation to children placed.
