How you'll make a difference:
As Business Support Supervisor, you will ensure your team are supported in a timely and efficient manner, so they can provide an effective service for customers. Working with professionals within Adults and Children's Social Care, you will ensure the best possible outcomes for children, young people and adults across South Gloucestershire.
The Business Support team collectively provides administrative and financial support to a range of professionals based at any of our four sites: Badminton Road, The Kingswood Centre, Patchway Hub and Kingswood Hub.
What you will be doing:
Your primary focus will be supervising the Business Support Administration team. You will allocate and check their work, with the aim of providing an efficient and consistent support service for staff and managers across the department.
It will be your responsibility to organise sufficient cover to enable the department to provide an effective service, this includes developing staff and ensuring timely and accurate completion of work.
You will oversee the day-to-day specialised database, financial services and general administrative support requirements for the department.
It will be key for you to conduct research and collate information for reports, assisting officers in drafting documentation across a variety of work areas including children's and adults social service teams, education, special educational needs and health.
Leading on customer relations, you will communicate any issues to senior members of staff, as well as monitoring and maintaining records for the team, which may include performance, sickness and annual leave etc.
It will be your responsibility to participate with 1-1's, PDPR's and assist with the recruitment of staff for the teams you supervise.
What we need from you:
We require you to hold a minimum qualification of 3 GCSEs grade 4 or above, including English and maths or equivalent, or have experience of supervising staff within an administrative team.
Given the elements of the role, you must be able to collate information from a variety of sources and present findings.
It is essential that you can prioritise workloads to meet peaks in demand and be flexible and resilient to be able to meet deadlines.
You must have good communication and literacy skills, to be able to contribute to writing clear, accurate and concise reports.
You will have effective IT and numeracy skills, including the ability to accurately update information systems and databases.

This is for a limited term contract until 7th February 2027.
This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road, The Kingswood Centre and working from home.
