Responsible to: Nurses/Clinical Lead

Job Specific

- Work with the Clinical Lead and Nurses to support the planning, implementing and evaluating individualised programmes of care for residents

- Assist and carry out all aspects of care as appropriate for the individual resident

- Supervise and delegate tasks to carers

- Act of mentor and role model for carers

- Assist in the admission, discharge and transfer process of residents as required

- Liaise with members of multi-disciplinary teams as required

- Assist with emergency situations as and when they arise

- Be knowledgeable regarding the whereabouts of all residents at all times

- Oversee and allocate staffing to effectively manage daily routine

- Deliver Induction to new care staff

- Record abnormalities received or reported by other members of staff and deal with accordingly

- Deal with any complaints, comments and feedback, and escalate if necessary

- Disseminate accurately all necessary information to staff, residents and relatives

- Report defects, damages, thefts, breakages and hazards to management

- Undertake any other reasonable requests as may be made to suit the needs of the service

- Carry out supervisions with care staff in a timely manner, providing feedback, support and mentoring

- Spot check residents rooms and living areas to ensure clean and tidy

- Supervise the staff ensuring good practice is being carried out and that care is person centred

- Work with the Social Activities Coordinator to ensure daily activities are carried out effectively

- Ensure own registration SSSC registration is up to date

- Receive and hand over reports at start and end of shift

- Must be prepared to remain on duty until relieved by following shift

- Administer drugs, treatments and therapies, as prescribed, in accordance with training, guidelines and local policies

Everyone:

- Act as an advocate for residents at all times

- Observe and maintain confidentiality for residents and staff at all times

- Act as a role model and be a good team player

- Communicate in a kind and effective way

- Attend and contribute to any relevant meetings

- If you observe anything related to the residents care then get assistance from care department

- Take care of all equipment and use it appropriately. Report any damages, defects, thefts, breakages and hazards

- Ensure person centred care is in place for residents

- Provide any other duties which may be required, consistent with the level of responsibility of the position

- Observe and abide by all polices

- Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to further professional development

- Complete all mandatory training in a timely manner

Pay: 14.51 per hour
