The Supplier Performance & Contract Manager is responsible for the end-to-end governance of small to medium scale contracts, aligned to Royal Mail Technology goals and objectives.
Location: London or Sheffield
In this role you will:
Manage contracts and supplier relationships in line with best practice and in accordance with the Royal Mail Technology Supplier Management Policy and Standards
Apply appropriate contractual and commercial management skills, tools and techniques in order to ensure the effectiveness of supplier contracts to meet and exceed contractual obligations, deliver value and minimize risk.
Work closely with Technology, Business and Procurement colleagues to build and govern supplier relationships and fit-for-purpose contracts
Take personal responsibility and accountability for suppliers within scope, acting as a subject matter authority and role model
Pro-active and Effective contract demand and renewal planning that deliver's best value contract extensions and / or renewals
Help further develop and work within a team dedicated to providing a centre of excellence in contract, commercial and relationship management
Perform contract, commercial review and contract administration e.g. Change Control Notices, Change Requests, Work Packages whilst maintaining all subsequently amended operational IT contracts under management
Provide key commercial support for IT programmes including ad-hoc commercial support and expertise across Royal Mail
Work with the Head of Supplier and Contract Management and the Supplier Relationship Managers in the evaluation of Supplier responses and proposals including production of key briefing notes and responding to wider stakeholder requirements
Oversee asset (including license) management activity
Deliver additional supplier relationship responsibilities determined by the needs of the team or individual development requirements
Qualifications and experience required:
Contract and Commercial Management experience (preferably Technology) with both critical and operational supplier relationships and contracts, that includes an in-depth knowledge of contract structures and terms
Full life-cycle contract and commercial management in a complex environment, including e2e supplier governance and development
Commercial and stakeholder management skills, and a consistent track record of building strong internal business and supplier relationships
Developing and managing multiple contracts and relationships
Strong negotiation skills, being able to demonstrate experience of supporting, leading and managing negotiations for complex agreements, including dispute management
Ability to analyse, understand and enforce contractual obligations, whilst balancing out the need to maintain and grow a strong interdependent relationship with suppliers
Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
* Experience in managing large scale contracts and supporting initiatives that deliver value and cost savings from 3rd party suppliers
