Overview
The Supply Chain Assistant will support to the Supply Chain Manager in the purchasing, receiving, storage and issuing of goods, materials and services, to ensure that the company's operational needs are fulfilled, meeting cost, quality and delivery expectations and ensuring continuity of supply to meet company requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, the key duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Process and placement of purchase orders as appropriate in line with the approved suppliers and key accounts.
Ensure purchase orders have been acknowledged by the supplier.
Check that all materials and equipment ordered, are received in the appropriate timeframe and expedited, if necessary.
Stock Management: Receiving goods, checking shipments, and storing them in the correct locations.
Obtain Material Safety Data Sheets and COSHH assessments where necessary and forward to the HSE department for their records.
Reconcile delivery notes and purchase orders to invoices, liaising with Accounts department.
Stock Issue: Pick and issue of goods and materials to fulfil requirements.
Maintaining inventory records: Recording all inventory transactions, such as deliveries, returns, adjustments, and ensuring their accuracy.
Stock control: Monitoring stock levels to prevent overstocking or shortages, initiating purchase requisitions when stock is low, and stopping purchases when stock reaches maximum limits.
Stock checks: Conducting regular physical checks to reconcile physical stock with records and identify any discrepancies.
Receiving and storing goods: Checking deliveries for accuracy, quality and properly storing incoming items.
Collating goods & materials for project mobilisation within controlled areas - no cross contamination of materials, separated mobilisation areas for materials.
UK agent for Co-flexip (training given)
Responsible for the organisation of the store's layout implementing 5S, Min/Max levels, visual management techniques for optimum efficiency.
Stand in for Supply chain manager in their absence.
We understand candidates may not have all the experience necessary, however training can be given.
Essential Key Skills/Qualifications
Have a good standard of education.
Be able to use/learn bespoke company software packages with the ability to use Microsoft Office e.g., Word & Excel
Good written and verbal communications skills.
Good telephone manner
Demonstrate ability to organise workload and use own initiative.
