We are an established SME food manufacturing business based in Nantwich, Cheshire, seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Supply Chain Coordinator to join our team. This is a key role within our operation, supporting the smooth flow of materials and finished goods through the business.
The successful candidate will be a proactive team player with previous experience working within the supply chain of a manufacturing environment, ideally within food production. You will work closely with Production, Quality, and Dispatch to ensure the right materials are available at the right time and that customer orders are fulfilled efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end supply chain activities, including raising and processing purchase orders for raw materials, packaging, and consumables.
Plan and coordinate production schedules to align raw material availability with manufacturing requirements and finished goods dispatch.
Manage inbound logistics (raw material deliveries) and outbound logistics (dispatch of finished goods to customers).
Prepare dispatch documentation, book transport, liaise with hauliers, and monitor delivery performance.
Maintain strong supplier relationships, managing lead times, chasing late deliveries, and resolving shortages.
Liaise closely with Production, Technical/Quality, and Dispatch to ensure the smooth movement of goods throughout the facility.
Track supply chain KPIs such as stock levels, order accuracy, lead times, and delivery performance.
Identify and resolve supply chain issues quickly and effectively.
Ensure compliance with food safety, traceability, and regulatory requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within ordering, stock control, and logistical processes.
Handle ad-hoc parcel dispatch requests, including packaging, labelling, courier booking, and tracking
Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes
Previous experience working within the supply chain of a manufacturing business (food manufacturing experience highly desirable).
Good understanding of production and planning environments, logistics, dispatch, and inventory control.
Strong planning, organisational, and coordination skills.
Confident communicator, able to work effectively with suppliers, transport providers, and internal teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or ERP/supply chain systems.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
A proactive problem-solver who can work well under pressure.
