Who we are looking for:





Atkore UK are looking for a Supply Chain Director who will lead and oversee all aspects of the supply chain function, including purchasing, inventory management, vendor selection and negotiation, and distribution of finished goods within a manufacturing environment. This role is accountable for developing and implementing strategies that ensure critical supply chain processes operate efficiently, meet organisational objectives, and achieve performance KPIs. The Supply Chain Director will also be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting new and existing processes to enhance quality, service delivery, and operational performance.



A key focus of the role will be to identify and deliver performance improvement opportunities, lead transformational programmes, and drive new business initiatives. The position will also involve evaluating and developing new supply chains and supplier partnerships to optimise efficiency and reduce costs across the business.


What you'll do:




Promote & maintain awareness and compliance of H&S in accordance with best practice and legal requirements Create, implement and refresh the functional strategic plan and implement appropriate programs to address evolving business requirements or issues, collaborating with other divisions, regions, carriers, freight forwarders and other supply chain partners. Constantly review external trends and identify internal opportunities for continuous improvement. Align development plans for managers to the functional strategic plan to create structure, accountability, responsibility and focus. Oversee routine, disciplined operational reviews that cascade through the organization to all levels enabling rapid escalation of issues for resolution and improved performance Leverage available resources and set the benchmark for project management, planning and execution using Lean, right first time' approaches to eliminate waste and failure. Lead the implementation, ongoing management and effectiveness of Operations Planning program. Ensure capacity and capability plans for staffing levels, IT solutions and outsourcing are timely, cost effective, operationally effective and support customer requirements. Ensure appropriate process controls and documentation are in place at suppliers Perform all company business in accordance with regulations, company policies and procedures and demonstrate high ethical and professional standards with business contacts in order to maintain an excellent reputation within the business community Lead the supply chain organisation through a lean excellence framework. Follow Company Procedure regarding all administrative aspects of the role. Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions throughout the course of their business activities, acting in accordance with the Company Safety Policy and setting a personal example at all times. Undertake any other reasonable duty as requested by your manager.



What you bring:




Education/Qualification/Training




Essential



GCSE or equivalent A Levels CIPS

Desirable



Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field. MBA



Experience/Knowledge




Essential



5-10 years' experience in purchasing and supply chain Commercial understanding

Desirable




European experience



Personal Attributes




Must have strong knowledge of steel market Thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Understands market dynamics as well as the legal and regulatory landscape. Senior level supply chain with a track record of operational service level and efficiency improvement. Strong working knowledge of supply chain management principles. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Confident, articulate and able to influence at all levels with exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills Excellent time management & leadership skills. Action and results orientated
