Role Overview:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations to ensure the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective flow of pharmaceutical products from suppliers to customers. This role plays a critical part in aligning supply chain strategy with commercial, operational, and regulatory objectives, while ensuring product availability, quality, and service excellence.

The role involves strategic planning, process improvement, inventory optimization, and supplier relationship management. The Supply Chain Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives, lead cross-functional collaboration, and implement systems and technologies to enhance visibility, agility, and performance across the supply chain. This position also plays a key role in risk management, business continuity planning, and regulatory compliance, particularly within the framework of GDP and GMP standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Supply Chain Leadership

Own and refine key supply chain KPIs (e.g., OTIF, inventory turns, forecast accuracy, backorders, working capital).

3. Stock & Inventory Optimisation

Define and implement best-in-class inventory management practices to reduce waste and improve availability. Oversee demand planning and forecasting processes to align supply with market demand and minimise stockouts or overstocking. Lead S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes across regions and business units.

4. Systems & Technology Integration

Champion the evaluation, selection, and implementation of supply chain technologies (e.g., ERP, forecasting tools, WMS). Leverage data and digital tools to improve visibility, automation, and decision-making throughout the supply chain. Work closely with IT and finance to ensure accurate data flow between systems and reporting platforms.

5. Supplier and Partnership Management

Set strategic direction for procurement and supplier performance management. Build strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability, agility, and cost-effectiveness. Negotiate key supply agreements and lead efforts to secure strategic supply continuity.

6. Leadership & Collaboration

Build and develop a high-performing supply chain team with a culture of accountability and innovation. Act as a senior leader across the organisation, engaging with commercial, quality, finance, regulatory, and operational teams. Present regular supply chain performance updates, risk assessments, and strategic proposals to the Board.
