Job Description

Mudwalls (Food Group) are a growing consolidator / distributor, relating to the supply of Fine Food and Drink, including Mudwalls Fresh Produce, to the independent Retail and hospitality sectors. All the products we supply are consolidated and distributed from our purpose-built Distribution Centre in Redditch, Worcestershire. This ensures that all the Fine Food and Drink we supply meets the strict Mudwalls (Food Group) standards.

Due to continued growth, Mudwalls (Food Group) are recruiting for a new Supply Chain Manager to join our existing team.



The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the processing of customer sales orders, via our respective sources, and supplier purchase orders, relating to our respective customer requirements, i.e. retail customer, wholesale customer, e-commerce customer, etc, via various communication methods, i.e. EDI, email, telesales, etc.

Experience in a similar role / knowledge of the food / retail industry is essential.

Fresh Produce/Fine Food category experience, aligned to procurement direct from UK growers/producers, advantageous.

Understanding of the commercial process relating to the sourcing, purchase & supply of goods / products / services.

Strong market awareness / insight.

Excellent communication skills with experience of dealing with producers / suppliers.

Knowledge of / relationships with regional food suppliers & producers, based within the UK, hugely beneficial.

Capability to identify and initiate new supplier / product relationships in line with quality / technical requirements.

Initiative / ability to link industry knowledge with seasonal trends to maximise the opportunity of seasonal sales.

Support in the processing of customer (sales) orders via various sources (i.e. EDI, email, telephone).

Responsibility for coordinating the processing of supplier (purchase) orders.

Coordination of the Fresh Produce supplier base, to ensure all levels of service expectations are being met.

Delivered vs ordered analysis (supplier service level), with escalation to the relevant management.

Seasonal forecasting / planning, in conjunction with maintaining required stock levels / Supplier JIT supply capability.

Experienced in the use of Excel & Microsoft based IT functionality.

New supplier / product setup and existing supplier / product maintenance (NPD process, IT system setup, etc).

Stock / inventory control responsibility, understanding stock holding versus customer forecasting / rate of sale.

Shelf-life vs stock holding analysis / reporting for relevant manager review / action.

Optimise volume and order days to minimise costs and reduce wastage.

Manage stock inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages, collaborating with the commercial team.

Maintain accurate records of stock, collections, and deliveries.

Analyse sales/procurement data to forecast short term demand from customers.

Communicate with internal logistics team & third-parties to ensure timely collections/deliveries of orders.

Key Requirements: -



Full UK driving license & own transport.

Based full time at our Worcestershire Head Office.

Hold the required standard of English language and literacy in relation to the role.

Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently, using own initiative.

Highly numerate with strong diligence / attention to detail.

Completion and recording of all company documentation as required.

Flexibility (prepared to perform any other reasonable duties, as requested).

Strong / confident IT skills (Inc. Excel experience).

Education: GCSE or equivalent.

Punctual and self-motivated.

Full time contract; 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility aligned to business requirements.

Pay: 30,000.00-40,000.00 per year
