The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for planning and scheduling customers' orders within designated time constraints, utilising the factory's production capabilities to achieve specified company targets, and will manage a core range of raw material.
The role will focus on existing processes and systems; however, it will require input into the ongoing development of the ERP and production MRP planning systems.
The role has responsibility for creating operation sequencing and materials scheduling for Shildon production units in the manufacture / fabrication of worktops.
Principle Element
The primary element of the role is to support the supply chain planning process across the Production and Materials disciplines, whilst ensuring acceptable levels of internal stakeholder and external customer service is maintained.
Production planning support to manufacturing/operations teams
Master Production Schedule management/maintenance
Develop production schedules/scheduling systems, working with operations/manufacturing
To plan all incoming orders, acknowledging production deliveries to Sales and Customers, ensuring Customers delivery requirements are achieved and OTD is maximised.
To ensure weekly production plans are achievable and issued on time
Ensuring sufficient inventory of materials and services to meet customer and business needs
Analyse demand forecasts and MRP reports for intercompany and marketing, ensuring continuous material availability
Manage and expedite orders with suppliers to meet demand
Coordinate with Sales/Marketing, Purchasing and Planning on new products to ensure that the BOMs and BOOs are defined and entered in a timely manner to ensure a swift and seamless introduction to market
Support and ensure stock accuracy and transactional precision within operations and business systems data. Assist investigating raw material variances and actions to correct data.
Act as focal point for the materials replenishment process on site, ensuring we balance inventory requirements with space constraints.
Support / manage inventory counts - Cyclical and Full stocktakes.
Develop/maintain measures of performance against key performance indicators
Champion supply chain improvement activity & promote materials management best practice (focusing on implementing lean manufacturing principles)
Support new product introduction projects Analyse existing processes and KPIs, supporting improvements and implement actions
Work with Managers/Supervisors to maintain and report manufacturing performance statistics which should include efficiencies, output and on-time delivery.
To progress any production problems through daily production meeting
Coordinate with Sales/Marketing, Purchasing and Planning to ensure that samples to support new product introduction and new range introduction are defined and support with process to successfully deliver to the customer
Work with Production, Purchasing and Planning to ensure that the BOM has the correct structure as well as accurate components and quantities with the appropriate units of measures assigned for precise transaction and stock control
To carry out planning related tasks as required by Supply Chain Manager

Knowledge and Experience Key attributes:
Essential:
Good track record in production and/or materials planning with understanding of manufacturing planning systems
Experience in a manufacturing discipline
Experience of working with MRP/ERP systems
Logical and methodical approach to planning challenges.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel. It would be advantageous to be able to create charts, macro's, pivot tables and formula's
Strong understanding of integrated processes, including but not limited to manufacturing, and supply chain.
Strong analytical skills, highly data literate
Strong focus on internal/external customer satisfaction
Good influential skills, ability to communicate at all levels & work well under pressure
Motivated, proactive self-starter, a team player
Desirable:
Knowledge of worktop production
Knowledge of Epicor (Kinetic)
Qualifications:
The position requires good level of education. You should possess as a minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, ideally Level 3+ qualifications, A Levels and preferable a degree or equivalent.
Candidates should also be highly computer literate, with experience of using Microsoft Software and ERP packages and must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
