The Factory Planner plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of production planning within the business. Reporting directly to the Planning Manager, this position is responsible for delivering key performance indicators, managing EDI order flows, and maintaining optimal stock levels in collaboration with technical, operational, and farming teams. The role includes producing daily and evening production plans, providing weekend and annual leave cover for the Planning Manager, and ensuring seamless communication across departments. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, waste reduction, and team development, the Factory Planner also oversees stock management, reporting, and supports additional project work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Report daily to the Planning Manager and deliver against planned KPIs.
Monitor
EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
to ensure efficient order processing; resolve system errors with IT support as required.
Collaborate with the Technical team to maintain compliance with stock control parameters.
Produce daily and evening production plans, and update the 4-week plan (over the weekend)
Provide cover for the Planning Manager.
Monitor pack-out and production performance throughout the day.
Coordinate with all departments to maintain stock levels based on external variables.
Maintain strong communication across all departments.
Challenge operational performance to reduce waste and support continuous improvement.
Conduct physical stock checks and report on lost boxes.
Manage packaging, consumables, PPE, pallets, and trays, including ordering, expediting, monitoring stock levels, and updating supplier portals.
Produce ad hoc reports (e.g. costings, stock usage, performance).
Manage and support additional project work.
Maintain a cost-focused approach in all planning activities.

Working hours:
4 on 4 off shift pattern, 40 hours a week.
Salary:
Salary will vary depending on experience.
