Supply & Logistics Assistant

Glasgow, SCT, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

ABOUT GLENCAIRN:

Glencairn is a family-run business with over 40 years of experience in crystal glassware, design, and bespoke decoration. From our East Kilbride factory, we develop, design and supply high-quality products to an established and growing worldwide customer base.

With a foundation in family values, Glencairn is committed to its people and the contributions each of them can make towards a successful, supportive and cohesive organisation, regardless of their role. If these are values you share, we would love for you to join our team.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We're looking for a Supply & Logistics Assistant to join our busy team. You'll work closely with the Purchasing Manager and play a big part in keeping goods moving -- from suppliers, through to our warehouse, and out to where they need to be.

We're looking for someone who's organised, detail-focused and can juggle a few jobs at once. Good communication is key, since you'll be in touch with freight partners, suppliers and other team members every day. If you enjoy problem-solving, like working in a fast-paced environment and get satisfaction from seeing things arrive where they should, this could be the role for you.

WORKING HOURS:

Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5pm

Friday: 8:00am - 2pm

What You'll be doing

Organise transport and deliveries, including customs clearance for international goods. Track shipments around the world, fix any delivery issues and manage logistics partners. Make sure everything follows company rules and regulations. Help with ordering all the goods and services the company needs. Create purchase orders and any related paperwork. Keep good relationships with suppliers and work closely with other departments. Keep an eye on stock levels and make sure supplies are ready when needed.

What We Are Looking For

Experience in purchasing or procurement is a big plus. Knowledge of Sage 200 (or similar software) is highly valued. Someone organised who can juggle a few tasks at once. Comfortable talking with suppliers, freight companies and other team members. Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Good at solving problems and handling delivery or logistics issues. Strong communication skills and able to get along well with people. Can follow instructions but also work on your own when needed. Positive attitude, keen to learn and willing to help the team succeed.

You Will Care About Your Environment:

Contribute to a welcoming and positive workplace for you and your colleagues. Step up to support colleagues across other departments when needed - teamwork is key. Always show respect and consideration for those around you.
