Role Description




Are you an enthusiastic Planner looking to progress within one of the UK's leading FMCG businesses? This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Supply Planning team.



Job Purpose



Responsible for Supply Chain Planning integration across key business functions; ensuring that supply plans and all associated risks are effectively communicated to all stakeholders.



Generate feasible supply network plans for the supply chain, at factory and distribution centre level, and to ensure delivery of these plans.

Review requirements, create SNP production orders to replenish stock level, and perform expediting actions when necessary.



Coordinate repack activities for all Princes Group PLC sectors at 3rd party suppliers, ensuring inventory and service level targets are met, and that feasible and efficient plans are provided to repack suppliers. Work with stakeholders to ensure all repacking requirements are properly captured and conflicting priorities are resolved.



Continuously develop the APO planning system and ensure consistent system usage across the MPS Planning Team.

Principal Responsibilities





1. Responsible for product availability at nominated distribution centres, ensuring stock transfers are planned and executed efficiently, and ensuring accurate reporting of product availability and potential service issues based on supply plans.

2. Liaise with MPS Planning Teams and Scheduling teams, to understand risks to the supply plans and expedite deliveries as required.

3. Plan and manage all activities at repack suppliers, including weekly repack schedules and medium / long term repack plans. Responsible for finished goods and packaging working capital targets & ensuring stock levels are within budgeted levels, and that any surplus stock is managed effectively. Ensure all relevant packaging from external suppliers is available at repack suppliers. Coordinate all change management requirements at repack suppliers in line with business requirements; close liaison with Commercial functions, Product Launch / NPD, Forecasting, and Customer Services to ensure all new launches and specifications are managed effectively.

4. Support the MPS planning processes by providing recommendations on safety stock levels by product and distribution centre. Run unfulfilled demand projections at SKU levels, and aggregate by line or Customer as required. Model safety stock scenarios based on changing variables such as demand variability, lead-times, service levels & supply reliability. Liaise with Site Planning to monitor adherence to Safety Stock levels, and ensure any risks are fully visible to all stakeholders.

5. Ensure effective management of the SAP APO system, including all master data requirements and supply chain alerts, and assist in APO development and rollout requirements.

6. Planning representative for Export Supply business, ensuring effective Supply Chain integration between Sales, Customers, Princes Supply Chain and Princes Manufacturing operations.



Role Requirements



Knowledge, Skills & Experience





Knowledge and experience of fundamental supply chain planning processes, including production planning, production scheduling, and distribution planning. Ideally gained in a complex FMCG environment. Experience of working with ERP systems (SAP ECC preferable) Experience of working with Advanced Planning Systems (SAP APO preferable) Ability to build robust relationships with key internal contacts (Sales, Forecasting, Customer Services, Manufacturing and Logistics), as well as external parties including suppliers. High level of business awareness, allowing for conflicting stakeholder priorities to be understood and managed. Capable of resolving conflicting priorities at all business levels. Graduate or similar relevant qualification.
