Job Description

We are excited to be recruiting into our Youth Education Service (YES). This role is designed to offer the most deserving young people the best chance at being successful in education and employment. The successful applicant will be trained to use psychologically informed techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support YES students to thrive in their education at YES and access sustainable employment opportunities beyond their time at YES, through using a relationship-based and trauma informed approach.





YES, is a registered alternative learning provision (ALP) which offers English and Maths functional skills tuition and/or qualifications in small friendly classes, or 1:1, to 16-25 year old's experiencing barriers to their learning. This role has been created to offer 1:1 tailored support to young people to overcome physical or emotional barriers to attending through using ACT techniques.

Who are we?



We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. What you will be doing:

By adopting a flexible and creative approach, you will enable young people to improve their confidence and wellbeing and overcome physical barriers (such as travel) to empower them to consistently engage in their education. You will use your experience of consistent and effective partnership working and strong communication skills to engage referral partners, other support services internal and external to 1625ip, and employers. You will be part of a passionate team of people surrounding each young person, providing holistic and specialist support adapted to meet the needs of each individual. By being empathetic and truly understanding the complex needs of our students, you will work with them 1:1 to create realistic and ambitious progression plans. Being well organised and efficient, you will effectively record, and evidence education, employment and wellbeing outcomes achieved by young people, ensuring safe working practice, and contributing to our effort to secure future funding of the project.




You will be in the Youth Education Service (YES) team and your line manager will be our YES Development Manager.

Hours per week:

37.5 (this represents full time)

Contract type:

Fixed term 2 years (until July 2027)

Pay:

29,572 - 31,067 per annum (NJC scale 16 - 19 starting at the bottom of the scale)

Youth Education Service, close to Bristol's main train and bus stations as well as the vibrant city centre.
