Job description
We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic, highly motivated and capable SEND support assistant to play a key role in school, supporting a child with complex needs (with an EHC Plan) currently in year 1.
The post is for 30 hours per week (8:45 - 15:15) and is subject to the pupil remaining in school and the continuation of the EHC Plan.
The successful applicant will be required to support the class teacher in the development and implementation of various strategies to facilitate learning and manage behaviour in line with the pupils' needs and abilities.
You will have:
Experience of working with children with SEND needs
The ability to support and lead learning
Patience and the ability to relate well to children
A good sense of humour
Excellent communication and organisational skills
The ability to show initiative, work independently and as part of a team
A willingness to work with outside agencies
Skills in behaviour management of children
A willingness to undertake any appropriate training
