Support Practitioner

We recruit on values and transferrable skills, so you don't need previous experience as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us.

We have our own Training Academy that'll give you all the skills you'll need;

We'll even fund your SVQ/SCQF qualifications and your yearly SSSC fee!





The Role





You'll be joining a fun and friendly team who support 3 gentlemen with complex needs and learning disabilities. With a focus on maintaining and promoting independence, you will work in a person-centred way to provide support in all aspects of daily living, including cooking and preparing meals, personal care, administering medication and managing personal finances.



We'll be looking to you to be enthusiastic and take an active interest in their hobbies which includes getting out for walks, arts and crafts, bowling, going shopping, watching movies at the cinema and going to the disco for a dance.



To be a great Support Practitioner, we'll need you have;



Great communication skills. Able to think outside the box. Caring attitude and approach. Positive approach to learning. Able to follow guidelines. Confidence in the use of technology.

The people we support all have their own personal car which allows for them to access the community easily. A driving license would be beneficial however this is not essential.



Shift Patterns





At the moment we currently have 2 shift patterns in place which are mainly lone working shifts types which are 8am-8pm each day and also an 8am-8am sleepover (sleepover start time is 10pm-7am). These shift patterns are delivered 7 days a week including weekends and public holidays. Shift patterns may be reviewed and adjusted to meet the ever changing needs of the people we support when required also.



Our sleepover shifts do not form part of your contracted hours, so you will receive an additional payment for these.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
