We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and proactive Support Worker to join our team in delivering high-quality, person-centred support to young people aged 16 and over living in supported accommodation. This role involves working closely with up to two young people in a shared living environment, supporting them to develop the practical, emotional, and social skills needed for independent living.

Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day support to young people, promoting independence and helping them develop life skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning, self-care, and time management.
Build trusting, professional relationships with young people through consistent support and a trauma-informed approach.
Offer emotional support to young people who may have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), family breakdowns, or other vulnerabilities.
Encourage and facilitate engagement in education, employment, training, and recreational activities.
Promote safeguarding and well-being, maintaining professional boundaries while being responsive to risks and concerns.
Support behaviour management, helping young people understand and regulate their emotions and actions in a constructive way.
Maintain accurate records, including support plans, risk assessments, daily logs, and incident reports.
Work collaboratively with external professionals (e.g. social workers, mental health services, education providers) to ensure holistic support is in place.
Ensure the home remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at all times.
Respond to emergencies and incidents in line with company procedures and apply de-escalation or first aid where necessary.
Typical Rota Pattern
4 days on, 4 days off (as an example only)
Each shift set includes 3x 24-hour period, with a sleep-in nights (e.g; with sleep-in from approx. 11pm-8am)
Sleep-in shifts are compensated in addition to base pay
Flexibility is essential to cover occasional rota changes or additional support when required
Additional waking nights and additional singular day shifts will be available on an adhok basis.
Requirements
Experience working with young people, ideally in a supported housing, residential, or youth work setting.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and confidentiality.
Awareness of the challenges facing care leavers, young people with complex needs, or those at risk of exploitation or homelessness.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours calmly and confidently.
Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work lone shifts and across evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Basic IT and record-keeping skills.
A relevant qualification (e.g. Health and Social Care, Youth Work, or similar) is desirable.
A current First Aid certificate is advantageous (or willingness to undertake training).
