Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Team Manager to join our dedicated team in Brecon.



Reporting to the Registered Manager, you'll deliver high-quality person-centred services through strong line management of the senior support workers and support staff teams. You'll deliver excellent care and support planning practice, leading by example as a practice role model. You'll deliver great outcomes for the people we support. You'll be responsible for managing your services within budget, manage care hours, rotas and contracts and deliver against key objectives. You'll deliver a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture.

What will you be doing?




Enabling the people we support to access volunteering opportunities, linking with operational teams to understand how engaging in activities and/or volunteering can contribute to individual outcomes. Facilitating and leading volunteer activities on a regular basis to be the point of contact, provide advice and support, receive informal feedback on services and observe practice. Supporting the 'Planning Live' processes in your region, including supporting the review and further development of Community Maps to connect people we support, families, carers and local support teams with external opportunities. Seeking out and developing opportunities for people we support, both from external resources and within Mirus, working alongside and supporting operational and central teams. Working with support services managers to upskill teams to work with people supported to plan and engage in activities Identifying gaps and facilitate new opportunities in the region, working in partnership with others. Taking the lead on the development of Mirus volunteer-led projects, matching the opportunity to a specific individual, service or region and involving external partners. Ensuring that Mirus volunteers are inducted and given appropriate training and supervision on an on- going basis, either by providing this in person or by equipping others to do so, working closely with the Mirus L&D team. Leading on engagement opportunities with other external organisations giving staff and volunteers the opportunity to inform and influence Mirus service and strategic development. Working with communication team and others to market and promote community networking, engagement, and activities. Collecting and presenting information to demonstrate to Mirus, funders and others the benefits of volunteers/and or community engagement. Identifying appropriate grants relating to the region, supporting with co-ordinating and writing the grant application, supporting communication with the funder and overall project delivery. Understand and demonstrate a commitment to Mirus mission and values, policies and procedures. To be prepared to negotiate other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post in light of changing circumstances.
