SUPPORT WORKER REQUIRED 6HRS PER WEEK.

KILBIRNIE AREA, DRIVER ESSENTIAL.

THIS POST REQUIRES THE WORKER TO BECOME PART OF THE DISCLOSURE SCOTLAND PVG SCHEME.

There is a six month probationary periods and a contract of employment will be given.

Please note there may be age requirements attached to the driving of the mobility car.

Support worker require to support a young pregnant lady in the Kilbirnie area.

The young woman has some anxieties, mental health problems and sits within the spectrum.

The young woman can at times have partial seizures and this will need monitoring throughout the pregnancy.

The young woman requires support and encouragement with all aspects of life.

The young woman lives in a warm home with her loyal dog and is preparing for her new arrival. The young woman has a great sense of humor and enjoys a chat but at times she needs to rest due to her health conditions.

Security and safety within the home is paramount and there is a key safe in place to allow her Personal Assistant to enter the property.

THE ROLE:

The role would include support in driving the young woman to hospital appointments, she has many at the moment as she is due her first child. There is a car available to drive, some age requirements apply to this as it is a mobility vehicle.

Light house work to keep the home a safe environment and free of trip and hazard falls etc.

Some food prep would also be included in the duties, the young woman is finding it difficult to nourish herself at the moment due to her pregnancy. Due heightened senses around smell and taste, she has a strong aversion to the smell of cooking at the moment and is finding it difficult to cope with lingering food smells.

Prompting for medication to be taken/ordered etc.

Support and encouragement with bed changing and laundry.

There is a social element to this post also, to enable the young woman to integrate with her local community and support her going forwards in finding local groups to join.

EXPERIENCE:

Driver Essential.

Moving and handling experience.

Personal Care experience.

Understanding of Mental Health issues and anxieties.

Understanding of issues surrounding pregnancy and child birth.

Knowledge of epilepsy (training can be given).
