We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care, dementia and Alzheimer's care, and be committed to enhancing the wellbeing and independence of those they support. This role involves working closely with clients to deliver personalised care that promotes dignity, safety, and comfort. Flexibility to work various shifts is essential, along with a genuine passion for caregiving.
Duties
Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Administer medication following prescribed instructions and maintain accurate records
Support with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met
Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment
Implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs
Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living space
Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
Support clients with activities that promote independence and social engagement
Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary
Experience
Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care is highly desirable
Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, or senior care is advantageous
Experience in caregiving roles involving medication administration and behaviour management is preferred
Familiarity with first aid procedures and safe driving practices is beneficial
Previous childcare or heavy lifting experience can be an asset but is not essential
A caring attitude combined with excellent communication skills is vital for success in this role
