Overview


We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The role involves supporting patients with daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and fostering a respectful and caring atmosphere. Applicants should have a genuine interest in senior care, dementia care, and patient support, with experience or willingness to learn in specialised areas such as Alzheimer's, hospice, or behavioural management. Responsibilities



Assisting residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming Supporting patients with mobility and transferring using appropriate techniques and equipment Administering medication in accordance with prescribed guidelines (training provided if necessary) Preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements Engaging clients in social activities and recreational programmes to promote mental well-being Monitoring health conditions and reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly Providing emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation Assisting with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment Driving clients to appointments or outings when required (valid driving licence preferred) Managing behaviour effectively through patience, understanding, and de-escalation techniques

Skills



Prior experience or knowledge in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is advantageous Strong understanding of patient care principles including dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or moving equipment Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals First aid certification or willingness to undertake training upon employment Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals Good organisational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently Ability to handle behavioural challenges with patience and professionalism Reliable driving skills are desirable for transporting clients safely

Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour
