You will play a key role in supporting adults with learning disabilities to live meaningful, active lives both at home and in the wider community.

What you'll be doing:



Supporting individuals with learning disabilities to enjoy meaningful daily activities at home and in the community. Encourage social inclusion by supporting individuals to access their local community. Promoting independence, confidence, and life skills through person-centred support. Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and ensuring service users' well-being, adapting support as needs change. Administer medication (following training) and complete monitoring reports as required. Work closely with service users to plan and support enjoyable, purposeful daily activities that promote confidence, skill-building, and independence. Communicate effectively with service users, families, colleagues, and external professionals to promote rights, choices, and dignity. Follow care plans and active support strategies, always prioritising dignity, privacy, and respect. Building strong, respectful relationships with service users, families, and professionals. Keeping clear and accurate records and updating care plans as needed. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of care and support provided.

What we're looking for:



A caring and positive attitude - experience is welcome but not essential. Great communication skills and a willingness to learn. A commitment to promoting independence and choice. Flexibility to work as part of a rota including some evenings or weekends. A genuine interest in supporting people with learning disabilities. Empathy, patience, a proactive approach to care, and a genuine interest in helping others. Willingness to undertake personal care and other hands-on support duties. Flexibility and a team-player attitude.
Previous experience is welcomed but not essential - full training will be provided.

Requirements:


- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Valid driver's license
