Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in our care, particularly seniors and individuals with specific health conditions such as Alzheimer's and dementia.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Support clients with mobility and physical tasks, which may involve heavy lifting. Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of clients. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel. Engage in first aid practices when necessary and ensure a safe environment for all clients. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each client's needs. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.

Experience

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is an advantage. A background in caregiving or nursing is beneficial for understanding the specific needs of clients. Experience with childcare may also be considered valuable for those supporting families or younger clients. Certification in first aid is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided.
