Support Worker - Support a Tech-Savvy and Independent Gentleman!
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset
Pay Rate: 14-15 per hour

Are you someone who enjoys great conversation, values independence, and wants to make a real impact? We're looking for a Support Worker to support an intelligent, tech-savvy man in accessing the community and enjoying activities he loves. He has a passion for gadgets, motorbikes, and engineering, loves good conversation, and enjoys fixing things, going to the cinema, taking his mum to the pub for lunch, and would like to go on short breaks in the UK and abroad with his team.
He's looking for someone patient and understanding to support him in continuing to see his mum daily, going to the cinema, playing pool/snooker, and going bowling. He also needs a little help with reminders for hospital appointments and when household bills are due. Whether it's heading out for social outings, playing a game of pool, or making sure he's set up for the day, you'll be a key part of his routine.

The ideal Support Worker will be:
Someone with a patient, encouraging nature
Have experience supporting individuals with cognitive or neurological conditions is desirable
Have a good sense of humour and the ability to adapt to different social settings
Someone comfortable in a home where smoking is permitted
Have at least 6 months of experience supporting someone with an acquired brain injury
Have strong communication and emotional resilience
Someone calm, reliable, and supportive who respects independence
A driver with business insurance on their car (Essential for this role)
A willingness to go on weekends away/ short trips with our client - both in the UK and abroad.
Your key responsibilities as a Support Worker will be:
Prompting daily routines and personal care
Encouraging independence and emotional regulation
Accessing the community for activities
Keeping boundaries clear and routines consistent
Reporting and recording behavioural changes
Supporting with medical appointments
Encouraging household tasks, and support with packing/ sorting and organising his home (he's planning on moving home soon!)
Going on local and international trips and short breaks with this client
