We're looking for caring, reliable and experienced Support Workers to join our brand-new team at Elizabeth Close in Oldland Common, a bespoke supported living service for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new flagship service, supporting individuals as they step out of specialist hospitals or secure environments and rebuild their lives safely in the community

About Oldland Common




Oldland Common is a newly built development offering six self-contained homes for adults aged 18 and over. The service is designed for people with high levels of complexity, including behaviours that challenge, communication differences, autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs and, in some cases, forensic histories.


Our aim is to support people to resettle successfully into the community, develop independence, build meaningful routines, and live safe, fulfilling lives. Support is typically delivered on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, depending on the needs of each individual.

About the role




As a Support Worker, you'll play a key role in helping each person settle, grow and thrive at their own pace. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing consistent, person-centred support to individuals with complex needs Using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches to promote stability, safety and wellbeing Supporting people to develop independent living skills Encouraging community participation, meaningful activities and social connections Following detailed support plans, risk assessments and communication strategies Supporting with daily living, personal care and accessing healthcare Keeping accurate records and escalating concerns appropriately Working collaboratively with colleagues, managers and MDT professionals

We have full-time, part-time and bank opportunities available as we build a strong and flexible team around the needs of the service.


Shifts will include days, evenings, weekends, and nights.

What we're looking for




To ensure the right support for the people who will be moving into Oldland Common, applicants must have:

Experience

supporting

adults with learning disabilities and/or autism

Experience working with behaviours that

challenge

or complex risks


We're also looking for:



A calm, patient and resilient approach Confidence working in structured, proactive ways Ability to follow PBS strategies and support plans consistently Reliability, compassion, and good communication Willingness to learn and work as part of a strong, supportive team A Full UK Driving Licence (desirable but not essential)
