Support Worker - Semi-Independent Living (Care Leavers)
Service: Semi-Independent Supported Accommodation (Ages 16-25)
Location: Pendle and surrounding areas (multi-site; driving licence desirable)
Contract: Full-Time | Part-Time | Permanent |
BankPay: 12.21 per hour (dependent on experience/qualifications)
Shifts: Days and nights, including weekends and bank holidays.
Role Overview
Provide person-centred support to care leavers in semi-independent accommodation, helping them transition to adulthood safely, confidently, and independently. Work within safeguarding frameworks, Ofsted standards, and Local Authority plans.
Key Responsibilities
Support young people in line with Pathway and Placement Plans.
Promote independence through budgeting cooking self-care routines education employment healthcare.
Provide emotional support using trauma informed strengths-based approaches.
Ensure safety by identifying managing and reporting risks or safeguarding concerns.
Advocate for young people and facilitate attendance at meetings and appointments. Maintain accurate records and contribute to service quality and audits.
Work effectively both independently and in a team.
Skills & Requirements
Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of young people.
Strong communication organisation and emotional resilience.
Experience with care experienced or vulnerable young people desirable.
Ability to manage challenging situations professionally.
Driving licence is desirable.
Enhanced DBS (willingness to obtain).
