Job Description

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated skilled support workers to create a 24 hours-a-day supported living environment for a young female adult in her own home.

Daytime ratio will be 2:1 and wake night shifts will be 1:1 ratios.

Applicant needs to closely meet the job specifications and must have relevant/similar role experience in the field of at least 2 years in order to be considered.

Shifts expected to be 6 - 14 hours duration.

We are unable to offer a sponsored position unfortunately.

She requires help and support with all aspects of life, including cooking nutritious meals and assisting with eating meals, cleaning/maintaining her home, washing/drying of clothes, personal care and administrating medications.

She loves one to one interaction throughout the day, but also likes a little me-time where she needs to be monitored closely. She is a bubbly character who thrives through engagement and a pleasure to be with.

She is a wheelchair user and needs assistance with pushing her chair and a ceiling track hoist is used for any transfers.

Duties

- Provide personal care, including showering, dressing, and toileting.

-Assist with meal preparation and ensure client receives proper nutrition while eating safely to the IDDSI framework.

-Support client with mobility.

-Maintain a supportive and professional, yet caring and friendly, relationship with client and her family.

-Offer companionship and engage with client with meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.

-Administer medication as prescribed, maintain medical records and monitor health conditions, raising concerns immediately.

-Housework.

-Maintain a clean and safe environment for client and other staff in the home.

-Potentially drive client to appointments or social activities when necessary depending on experience.

Attributes required

-Previous experience in care setting ,educational support or transferable skills gained from caring for a family member.

-Preferred experience of client with epilepsy.

-Confident with hoisting of client or willing to learn.

-A valid UK driving licence is preferred.

-Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.

-Flexibility to cover other team members if required.

-Enhanced DBS (paid for).

Note... These positions will require a fresh DBS, which can take a few weeks to obtain.

Training is required and will be held during day hours.

Pay: 14.50 per hour
