Support Worker Casual Relief Worker

Cardiff, WLS, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a

strong, person centred and consistent

support workerto join our dedicated team in Cardiff. In this role, you will support people to build relationships, try new things, and feel part of their community - so that they can live good lives.

Holding a full UK driving license is desirable for this role.

In this role, you will be supporting a young individual in his first 'own' home, where he will be living independently for the first time. You will help him maintain and develop daily living skills, build his confidence and independence, engage in meaningful activities, and establish relationships both in his local community of Ely and the wider Cardiff area.

An understanding of ASD and OCD conditions would be beneficial for this role, alongside the ability to assert firm boundaries, maintain a consistent and level-headed approach, and a willingness to get out and about to try new things. Willingness to support this individual's pride in his Pakastani Culture and an understanding of the Muslim faith would set you apart from other candidates.

This will be an active role where each day may be different from the last--you may support him attending art classes, swimming at his local leisure centre, cooking his favourite national dishes, or even going on trips away! You will play a key role in helping him settle into his new home, feel secure living alone, and thrive as he navigates this exciting step toward independence.

Please note, this role is expected to encompass a combination of daytime and nighttime shifts - the ability to work dynamically as part of a team is essential.
