Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Support Worker to join our team of Support Staff at one of our Residential Homes to deliver 1-1 support to young adults with learning disabilities and complex needs/challenging behaviour. The Residents will have a varying degrees of learning disabilities, Autism, Sensory impairments and challenging behaviours. Support Staff will be promoting independence and supporting them to lead a fulfilling life. While keeping the Residents, themselves and others safe at all times.

Every day will be different where you will be supporting the individuals we care for with daily challenges, helping them to learn new life skills and taking part in day-to-day activities that most people take for granted. Residents will be encouraged be out and about, enjoying life together and no single day will be the same.

Due to the challenging nature of the client's, previous experience is essential specifically with Positive behaviour support and challenging behaviours, you will receive specific training tailored to the needs of the people you support, with guidance from an experienced Registered Manager and an Internal PBS specialist that will help you develop the skills further. We provide additional training to help you achieve your ambitions with genuine opportunities for career progressions within an established and growing care provider.

We need you to:



Carry out a variety of tasks; on a typical day you might find yourself providing supported care Be flexible, be a good listener and good communicator. Treat people with compassion and care, treat everyone with dignity and respect. Be willing to uptake personal development and further training where required Provide person-centred care and support to individuals with autism. Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks. Encourage and support individuals in participating in community activities and pursuing their interests. Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders. Monitor and record the progress of individuals, ensuring all care plans are followed. Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and developing new skills. Promote a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the well-being of all individuals. As part of a team, you will be supporting people in their own homes; the people we work with have complex needs including learning disability and autism. Some of the people who use our services also have significant physical health and personal care needs Collaborate with an experienced Registered Manager and Internal PBS specialist for guidance and skill development. Engage residents in day-to-day activities both within the home and the community.

Experience and skills required:



Ability to develop supportive relationships, promoting independence and wellbeing. Ability to use a computer - basic IT skills. You will be highly motivated to deliver outstanding care and support. Can work in in a person-centred way. We will provide the right candidate a range of training and specialist development opportunities.
