About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker - Therapeutic Practitioner, you will play a key role in the emotional, educational, and social development of children and young people with complex needs. Using a trauma-informed and therapeutic approach, you'll help create a stable, nurturing environment where young people can develop resilience, confidence, and independence.
What You'll Do
Build safe, trusting relationships and act as a positive role model
Support young people's daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and life skills
Act as a key worker, implementing and contributing to personalised care plans
Work collaboratively with parents, professionals, and partner agencies
Maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding practices
Engage in fun, structured activities that promote development and wellbeing
Work flexibly across shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Passion for working with children and young people
Experience in residential care or similar setting
Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already held)
Excellent communication and team-working skills
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent
Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, trauma, or neurodiversity (e.g. ASD, ADHD)
Knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and safeguarding frameworks
