PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Support Worker is responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality care to adults with complex needs in supported living settings across Northamptonshire. Clients may have diagnoses including learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, communication difficulties, sensory sensitivities, physical health needs, or mental health conditions.
Support Workers must work in accordance with each client's care plans, risk assessments, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans, and organisational policies, promoting safety, independence, dignity, and quality of life. You will work as part of a structured team and be expected to carry out care both in the home and in the community.
All mandatory and client-specific training must be completed and the staff member signed off as competent by a senior or the Registered Manager before joining the clients team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Personalised Support and Daily Living
Deliver care in line with each client's assessed needs, ensuring support is consistent with person-centred values.
Assist with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, toileting, oral hygiene, and continence management.
Support safe mobility using prescribed equipment (e.g. hoists, walking frames, wheelchairs), and follow all Moving and Handling Risk Assessments.
Promote independence and routine, encouraging clients to participate in cooking, cleaning, laundry, and daily living skills.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
You must complete all mandatory training (e.g. safeguarding, moving and handling, medication administration, infection control, basic life support) before working unsupervised.
You will also be required to complete client-specific training (e.g. epilepsy management, PBS, autism awareness, diabetes, communication techniques) relevant to each individual you support.
You must attend refresher training and updates as directed to remain compliant and capable in your role.
REQUIREMENTS
Full UK driving licence is essential.
Flexibility to work a combination of day shifts, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins if required.
Right to work in the UK.
Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check (funded by Consummate Care Ltd).
Commitment to complete all mandatory and client-specific training.
Ability to travel across Northamptonshire as required.
