Synergy Carers are looking to recruit Support Workers to support around Cwmbran and Newport.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to individuals in need, including those in nursing homes, hospice care, and with dementia. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to residents, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times. Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines. Support individuals with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Drive residents to appointments or activities as required. Monitor and document changes in patients' conditions and report any concerns to nursing staff. Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life. Maintain a clean and safe environment for all residents. Adhere to health and safety regulations while providing care.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role within a nursing home or healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge of first aid procedures is advantageous. Experience or training in dementia care or hospice care is highly desirable. Ability to provide compassionate patient care with a focus on individual needs. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both patients and team members. A valid driving licence is required for this role. Must be willing to undergo background checks as part of the hiring process.
