Job Description

We are currently seeking to recruit a friendly and trustworthy support worker to work alongside a family, therapy team, and case manager to support a delightful 10-year-old boy with complex care needs. The support will be based within the client's home within the Cwmbran area and the wider community.

The client is wheelchair dependent and relies on some moving and handling equipment for transfers. He enjoys a range of community activities, including sports, and the successful candidate would need to support him to access these activities.

You will need to have had some experience of working with children, preferably within the community and with physical needs, with a minimum of 3 years overall experience working in the care sector as a carer/support worker. Full training on the child's specific needs will be given.

You will require a full and clean driving license and the right to work within the UK.

THE CLIENT IS UNABLE TO OFFER SPONSORSHIP.

Shift patterns include 3pm-8pm on Thursdays, with scope to increase to Monday evenings at a later time.

The ideal candidate would be able to offer additional support during school holiday time for ad hoc overtime. There may also be some weekend hours.

We aim to offer a competitive weekday salary of 14.00 per hour, with any ad hoc weekend work being paid at a slightly elevated rate.
