Support Workers provide safe, effective, and person-centred care to people who use our services, ensuring dignity, respect, and independence always. The role is varied to reflect the individual needs of each person, but the primary focus is always on enabling service users to lead fulfilling and independent lives in line with CQC's fundamental standards of care.
Key responsibilities
Deliver safe, effective, compassionate and responsive care in line with individual care and support plans.
Provide emotional and practical support to individuals and their families.
Support and prompt clients with personal care while respecting privacy and dignity.
Support with medication, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately, MAR charts are signed correctly, and weekly stock checks are carried out and recorded in line with company policies and CQC requirements.
Carry out health monitoring (e.g., temperature checks) as required.
Encourage participation in hobbies, interests and community activities to promote wellbeing.
Support life skills such as budgeting, paying bills and seeking employment.
Act as a positive role model and promote independence.
Communicate effectively, adapting to each person's needs (verbal, non- verbal, body language).
Work collaboratively with healthcare and social care professional to ensure consistent and effective support.
Regularly update support plans and risk assessments, ensuring entries are accurate, person-centred and completed in a timely manner. Support the house Leader in Monitoring and reviewing these plans.
Maintain a clean and safe environment, including responsibility for communal areas and supporting service users to maintain their personal rooms.
Report concerns (including safeguarding, health and safety and quality issues) promptly to the line management in line with company policies.
Maintain clear, factual and accurate daily records, following professional standards of record keeping.
Complete all statutory and mandatory training, take part in supervision, competency checks and appraisals to support continuous professional development.
Actively engage in Team meetings, handovers and reflective practice sessions to ensure continuity and high-quality care.

Responsible for maintaining accurate, timely and professional records, including daily notes, incident reports, support plans and risk assessments.
Safeguarding:
Responsible for reporting for reporting any concerns or disclosures immediately in line with safeguarding policies.
Governance:
Responsible for following all company policies and contributing to internal audits, spot checks and quality monitoring.
Time Management:
Responsible for managing own workload and prioritising care effectively.
