We are recruiting for the following posts:
1.Hair Braiding and Weaving Instructor
2.Dressmaking and Craft Instructor
3. Support Worker
About the Project
This innovative programme provides:
Intensive vocational training
in hair braiding, dressmaking, tailoring, and crafts - developing practical, employable skills.
One-to-one mentoring
from successful adults who have overcome exclusion, focusing on confidence, resilience, and life planning.
Employability workshops
covering CV writing, interview techniques, workplace behaviour, and digital literacy.
Family support sessions
helping parents navigate benefits, housing, and supporting young adults.
Ongoing learning and evaluation
, including skills assessments, destination tracking, employer feedback, and quarterly progression reviews.
Available Roles1. Hair Braiding and Weaving Instructor
Deliver engaging, hands-on training in hair braiding and weaving techniques.
Inspire and mentor young people to build confidence and professionalism in the beauty industry.
Experience in teaching, training, or youth work is an advantage.
2. Dressmaking and Craft Instructor
Lead practical sessions in dressmaking, tailoring, and crafts.
Support learners to design, create, and finish garments or creative projects.
Encourage creativity, attention to detail, and pride in craftsmanship.
3. Support Worker
Provide one-to-one and group support to young people, helping them overcome barriers to learning and employment.
Liaise with families and partner agencies.
Support project delivery, record-keeping, and learner engagement.
General Requirements (All Posts)
Experience working with young people aged 16-19 (particularly those facing exclusion or disadvantage).
Strong communication, patience, and mentoring skills.
Relevant qualifications or professional experience in your field.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
