Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, including those with disabilities, the elderly, and patients requiring assistance with daily activities. This position requires a person who is not only skilled but also empathetic, ensuring that the dignity and wellbeing of clients are always prioritised.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration. Assist clients with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring their safety at all times. Implement behaviour management strategies to support individuals with challenging behaviours. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in behaviour or health to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed effectively. Drive clients to appointments or community activities as required, ensuring safe transportation.

Skills

Previous experience in senior care or dementia care is highly desirable. Strong understanding of first aid principles and practices. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, families, and team members. Knowledge of medication administration protocols within a care setting. Experience working in a nursing home or similar environment is advantageous. Compassionate nature with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
