Who you'll be supporting & more about the role:
In this service, you'll be supporting a vibrant and diverse group of individuals aged between 54 and 76. Each person has their own unique personality, interests, and support needs--which is exactly what makes this role so rewarding.
Some people are fully mobile, while others may need a little physical assistance to move around their home or enjoy trips out in the community. Some individuals mobilise using wheelchairs. The people you'll support live with a range of conditions including Dementia, Autism, and Learning Disabilities, and our experienced staff team is well-trained in providing tailored, compassionate care.
You'll be helping people enjoy the things they love--from attending day centres and going shopping, to relaxing with a Disney movie or getting creative with arts and crafts. Trips to the seaside, scenic drives, and lunches at local pubs or garden centres are regular favourites.
The people we support are fun-loving, kind, and caring, and also value their own personal space. Some are non-verbal, so being able to offer choices and communicate in a way that suits each individual is essential. You'll be guided by personalised care plans and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to ensure everyone receives the best possible care.
Sometimes, it's the little things that make the biggest difference--like a hand massage, having nails painted, or simply being listened to. Your patience, understanding, and ability to respond to each person's unique needs will be key to helping them live happy, fulfilling lives.
