We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. We are newly registered care at home and live in support provider and we are looking for individual to join our organisation. The role will starts as agency role and progress to permanent role. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in need, including those in senior care, hospice care, home care and live in support. This role requires a patient and empathetic approach to assist clients with daily activities, medication administration, and personal care. The Support Worker will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for those they serve.
Duties
Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities for clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Administer medication as prescribed and ensure compliance with care plans.
Support clients with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
Assist with meal preparation and nutritional support tailored to individual dietary needs.
Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
Offer emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
Skills
Strong background in patient care, particularly within senior care or nursing home environments.
Experience with medication administration and understanding of related protocols.
Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
